Billie Eilish dan Beyonce bersaing dengan tiga nama lain

Untuk pertama kalinya, nama Beyonce dan Billie Eilish mendapatkan nominasi Academy Awards.

Keduanya sama-sama masuk kategori Best Original Song. Billie menerima nominasi untuk lagu “No Time to Die” dari film James Bond dengan judul yang sama, sementara Beyonce menerima nominasi untuk lagu “Be Alive” yang merupakan soundtrack dari film “King Richard.”

Selain itu, ada pula sejumlah nama lain.

Mereka adalah Diane Warren untuk “Somehow You Do” dari film Four Good Days, Lin-Manuel Miranda untuk “Dos Oruguitas” dari film Encanto, dan Van Morrison untuk “Down to Joy” dari film Belfast.

Bukan penghargaan pertama yang Billie Eilish dan Beyonce untuk lagu tersebut

Sebelum masuk nominasi Oscar, kedua lagu tersebut sebenarnya sudah beberapa kali menerima nominasi dan penghargaan.

Berkat lagu “No Time to Die,” Billie Eilish berhasil menyabet penghargaan Best Original Song di ajang Golden Globe Awards yang ke-79.

Lagu tersebut juga sempat menang di ajang Grammy Awards 2021 dan dinominasikan di ajang bergengsi lain seperti Critics’ Choice Awards dan Satellite Awards.

Sementara itu, “Be Alive” milik Beyonce juga sempat masuk nominasi Golden Globe dan Hollywood Music in Media Awards pada 2021.
